"Positive Anticipation"

***SOLD***

"Positive Anticipation" Oil on Canvas Using one single color, most likely phthalo blue, although it's been years.

This piece was the end result of numerous practice attempts. Although this particular painting was half the size at 16" x 20". Work hours for this piece easily topped 30.
This piece came at a time of great change, self realization and a new found (unfamiliar) sense of personl responsibility. With a great deal of certainty I can declare this is a visual reminder of my place in the world at that specific time. A time of self reflection, mayhem and uncertainty. The need for control, and to create a very deliberate piece was all part of a greater healing good. Certainly the pieces that preceded Positive Anticipation could easily be recognized and classified in this group, and would be associated with my earlier "signature" style.
This painting, for me, represents growth, change, anxiety, hope, disappointment, fear, and an emerging need for achievement. Finishing this piece gave me a deep sense of accomplishment.
