"Inner revival; Inside Her" Oil on Canvas (24" x 30"?)
This painting came as a surprise in 1998-99. This was one of my first oils to take form as an "accident". Until this point, I had a purpose with my subjects. I had been satisfied with my paintings before but none of them came close to inspiring me like this one. "Inside Her" was all about the feelings it created in me as I painted it and less about what it would look like when it was finished. I had always enjoyed painting since I was old enough to ruin a piece of construction paper. But, for the first time I felt a deep sense of painting "right" and fell in love with this style. And so I had found my signature style . This approach allowed me to be in the Flow, in my own realm if you will. It wasn't about the result, it was about the feeling, the energy of myself, and the legitmacy of my feelings emotions.
