***SOLD***
Blooming Glen Farm located in beautiful Perkasie, PA is the setting for this painting. "Blooming Glen Farm #1" is my first landscape in acrylic. Not only is this the first acrylic, but this painting comes after a 2 year "sabbatical" on my part. When I say sabbatical, what I really mean is that I literally didn't paint a single piece in over two years. Starting with my pregnancy with my son, I left the oils behind and didn't touch a canvas until after my most recent trip to Sedona in February 2008. There, in Sedona to re-find my voice, and to figure out, what it is I should be doing with my career as a painter and as a new mother, I was scolded bluntly by a psychic there named Madison Morgan.
I had been lost and floundering in my creative ventures. In short, I was doing nothing. I had stopped. My new found best friend Madame Morgan had called me out! She knew I was an artist, and she knew I was doing zip with my talent. She told me my excuses (which, I had a few) were worthless, and I was LAZY. What will $90.00 buy you? A swift kick in the butt by a stranger.
So, with wisdom from a lady I had never met, nor am likely to see again, I took my lazy, cynical, grumpy butt back to NJ. I pulled a photograph from my collection, Blooming Glen Farm, and started. I sat down with some new acrylic paints I had recently purchased and in a few hours painted two pieces.
There's is nothing like the unadulterated truth, to motivate a person. Special Thanks to Madison Morgan for a good clean verbal boot to the butt.
